The intro/outro to this is quite unusual for a Stephen Lynch song, for they use both a
of hammer on/pull off techniques during a short fingerpicking sequence and also involve
With some effort, you will quickly understand the melody behind this fantastic peice. As
the verses, these are simply strums. I have written this out so that the
patterns are shown separately ("Rhythm Figure") at the beginning, and below them are the
combined with the Rhythm Figures.

VERSE 2:
Dear Diary,
Today was a great day,
I bought myself a brand new horse
Shes strong and fast, and so very beautiful
And just a little wild of course
I know tomorrow I can tame her
If I only believe
Wish me luck Diary,
Christopher Reeve
VERSE 3:
Dear Diary,
Today was a grand day
Took a bath, had a spot of tea
Did the New York Times crossword puzzle
Listen to the symphony
I think I'll go for a leisurely drive now
See what the day will bring
Life is good,
Love, Rodney King
VERSE 4:
Dear Diary,
Today was a Friday,
I got the music in my soul
Im writing songs and making records
I feel my life is finally full
I cant wait to tell my father
To see what he will say
Peace and love Diary,
Love, Marvin Gaye.
