------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bravest Face - Rush ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tabbed by: Gruff Tuning: Drop D (DADGBe) This is my first contribution of a tab. It's not perfect but it gives an idea of how the song is played (or at least how it sounds). If you don't understand any part, I'm sorry, listen to the song and hopefully you'll hear what I'm trying to explain. Also to find out the rhythm / timing of any part (such as when guitar 2 plays) you'll need to listen to the song. Intro: e|---------------------------------------------------------------------------| B|---------------------------------------------------------------------------| G|--------0--------------------0---------------------------------------------| D|----------------4-0-----------------4h5--0---------------------------------| x4 A|-----2--------------------2------------------------------------------------| D|--2--------0-0---------2--------0------------------------------------------| After the intro is played once, second guitar comes in: e|---------------------------------------------------------------------------| B|----10----8-----12----10----------12----10----15---------------------------| G|---------------------------------------------------------------------------| D|---------------------------------------------------------------------------| A|---------------------------------------------------------------------------| D|---------------------------------------------------------------------------| Verse (not sure about this part, but it sounds quite similar. I haven't included the little fills in between the chords) : e|---0---- ---3---- B|---0---- ---3---- G|---4---- x8 ---3---- x8 (This is played 10 times, with second D|---5---- ---5---- guitar coming in quietly on the 6th time) A|---5---- ---3---- D|---5---- -------- Second guitar on the verse: e|---------------------------------------------------------------------------| B|---------------------------------------------------------------------------| G|--10~----10h12~-----10---12b14rb12~----10~---10h12~---10---12b13rb12~------| D|---------------------------------------------------------------------------| A|---------------------------------------------------------------------------| D|---------------------------------------------------------------------------| After the first verse, the intro is played again, with first and second guitar coming in the same time (the first guitar part is played three times, and the second guitar part is played one and a half times). Then comes the chorus (again this is not perfect, but a simple version/chords which does sound right, or at least quite close) : e|----- ----- ----- --0-- ----- B|----- ----- ----- --0-- ----- G|--5-- ----- --7-- --0-- --7-- D|--5-- --0-- --8-- --2-- --8-- A|--3-- --0-- --8-- --2-- --8-- D|--5-- --0-- --8-- --2-- --8-- The verse is played again now, same as the first verse (guitar 1 chords are played 10 times, with 2nd guitar coming in on the 6th time). After the second verse, the intro is played again (guitar 1 plays through once, with half of the guitar 2 part being played), before going into the chorus again. This chorus is slightly longer/extended: e|----- ----- ----- --0-- ----- ----- ----- --0-- ----- B|----- ----- ----- --0-- ----- ----- ----- --0-- ----- G|--5-- ----- --7-- --0-- --5-- ----- --7-- --0-- --7-- D|--5-- --0-- --8-- --2-- --5-- --0-- --8-- --2-- --8-- A|--3-- --0-- --8-- --2-- --3-- --0-- --8-- --2-- --8-- D|--5-- --0-- --8-- --2-- --5-- --0-- --8-- --2-- --8-- It then goes into the 'solo' section. In this, one guitar plays what the guitar 2 part was playing during the verses(played once), while the other guitar plays the solo. e|---------------------------------------------------------------------------| B|-12~-----------------------------------------------------------------------| G|-12~---7/9--10\9---7/9-----------------------------------------------------| D|-------8/10-12\10--8/10--------8-------------------------------------------| A|----------------------------------10p8------------------8------------------| D|--------------------------8/10----------12p10p8--10/12-----12p10p8--10--5--| e|---------------------------------------------------------------------------| B|---------------------------------------------------------------------------| G|---------------------------------------10----------------------------------| D|-12~--10\8---10p8---------------10/12------12p10\8-----8h10---8-----------8| A|-------------------10--8--10------------------------10------------10p8-10--| D|---------------------------------------------------------------------------| e|---------------------------------------------------------------------------| B|---------------------------------------------------------------------------| G|--/-12-12-12-12-12-12-12---------------------------------------------------| D|--/-12-12-12-12-12-12-12----8--10--8------------8--------------------------| A|--------------------------------------10p8h10------10-10-------------------| D|---------------------------------------------------------------------------| It's straight back into the verse after the solo. It's pretty much the same as the other verses, except that guitar 1, doesn't do any fill's between the chords, and they are played 9 times and not 10. Also, guitar 2 is different. These are the riffs that guitar 2 plays during this verse: e|------------------------------------------6-----------6-----------6--------| B|-----------------------------8b10---6--8------8---6h8----8---6h8-----8-----| G|---5b7--rb5p3--------------------------------------------------------------| D|---------------5-----------------------------------------------------------| A|---------------------------------------------------------------------------| D|---------------------------------------------------------------------------| e|---------------------------------------------------------------------------| B|---------------------------------------18b20-rb18---15-----15--------------| G|------------------------------15--17--------------------17-----17p15-------| D|----------------------15h17------------------------------------------17-15-| A|---------------------------------------------------------------------------| D|--10--8---5--7--5----------------------------------------------------------| e|----------------------------------------------15---15---15---18p15---------| B|---------------------------------------------------------------------------| G|--------------------------rb9b10rb9----------------------------------------| D|-------------8~------------------------------------------------------------| A|---8---10------------------------------------------------------------------| D|---------------------------------------------------------------------------| (rb9b10rb9 means that you bend from 9 up to 10, then strum, then constantly bend up to 10 and release to 9 over and over again) Once again the intro is played (guitar 1 part is played twice, with guitar 2 coming in on the second time). Then the 'extended' chorus is played, but finishes slightly different: e|----- ----- ----- --0-- ----- ----- ----- --0-- ----- --0-- ----- B|----- ----- ----- --0-- ----- ----- ----- --0-- ----- --0-- ----- G|--5-- ----- --7-- --0-- --5-- ----- --7-- --0-- --7-- --0-- --7-- D|--5-- --0-- --8-- --2-- --5-- --0-- --8-- --2-- --8-- --2-- --8-- A|--3-- --0-- --8-- --2-- --3-- --0-- --8-- --2-- --8-- --2-- --8-- D|--5-- --0-- --8-- --2-- --5-- --0-- --8-- --2-- --8-- --2-- --8-- At the end of the last chorus, the guitar 1 part for the verse is played (6 times), and the song finishes. | / slide up | \ slide down | h hammer-on | p pull-off | ~ vibrato | b bend note | rb release bend ===============================================================================
