Drop It Doe Eyes

Los Campesinos

Text File

This is a good song by quite a well known Indie-Pop band called Los Campesinos, it's simple to play the chords, but to play the chords and synth melody together may some practice. Intro: Down-Up-Down strums for the E chord, followed by the melody. Alternatively, just strum a regular E chord. Verse: E You expected my war diaries B But time ran out and I, I let you down A A small thanks note written in French B is no shorthand for this thing gave me writers cramp. E Had a dream about shapeshifting B Well we move with such elegance A With such grace B With all our dignity just in place For the Chorus, play a high E barre chord, and finger-pick. E|-7-| B|-9-| G|-9-| D|-9-| A|-7-| E|-0-| E Deer die With their eyes wide open Eyes wide open Eyes wide open Deer die With their eyes wide open Verse: E Drawing tiny little pictures of skeletons B A To get across a sense of impending doom B And the leaves like the outward to major leagues E They're like the foxes on the hard shoulder And for some reason I think that I have twisted B This story to the fight last year and it turned out A that this is it so he goes to back his track B and for the signs we never signed [Chorus] Breakdown: (Play an E chord, building up gradually) E Drawing tiny little pictures of skeletons To get across a sense of impending doom And I am seventeen pages through this notebook now And there are little more than pictures of how I see you on an x-ray machine Its more like a television screen and you're in iraq And I know that you know what I mean And I realise, sensation hits Not even two girls requires to have a sailor smile. (At the end of the breakdown, there's a big mess of noise, I use a C major barre chord just mess around really, there's no set thing to do here, just make the chord sound as as possible.) Post-Chorus: (Play a high E Barre chord, and follow the melody of the vocals by switching to a high A at the end of each line) E A E|-7---12-| B|-9---14-| G|-9---14-| D|-9---14-| A|-7---12-| E|-0------| E A Turn up on your doorstep E A Feeling like roadkill E A Decent like postage stamps E A E A And when I turn to you, you feeling like i never know E A Everything I ever wrote E A Pouring out of your mouth.
