"Jennifer's Body" by Hole
from Live Through This
here's my guess at the song. the chords during the verse sound right to me,
although they are a little tricky to play, but i could always be wrong. i
usually am too : )
chords:
E G D B E5 G5(i) D5 B5 G5(ii)
A5
----------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------
--9--12---------7-------9---12---------7-----------------
--6---9---12-or-4---9---9---12---12-or-7---9---5-----7--
--7--10----9----5---6---7---10---12----5---9---5-----7--
----------10--------7-------------10--------7---3-----5--
intro:
E G D B
played a little quick, and there's some weird slide between D and B
verse:
E G D B
notes played about twice as long as in the intro
then the distortion is switched on and the above notes are played in power
chord form:
E5 G5(i) D5 B5
pre-chorus:
the guitars don't really play anything, just feedback, and sometimes they
follow what the bass plays (B G D, and A i think)
chorus:
B5 G5(ii) D5 A5
the end of the chorus ("just relax, just relax...") is the same as the
pre-chorus but the guitars somewhat play the riff very low.
bridge:
B5 G5(ii) D5
here's what Paul Scheidt (FateGrinder - wzombie@netcom.com) came up with for
the lyrics, with a few of my corrections:
I know it, I can't feel it
Well I know it enough to believe it
And I know it, I can't see it
But I know it enough to believe it
To bet on you, to bet on me, my better half as sick as me
To bet on you, to bet on me, I'm sleeping with my enemy,
Myself, myself
[He] found pieces of Jennifer's body
[He] found pieces of Jennifer's body
[He] found pieces of Jennifer's body
Just relax, just relax, just go to sleep
Just relax, just relax, just go to sleep, now
You're hungry, but I'm starving
He cuts you down from the tree
He keeps you in a box by the bed
Alive, but just barely
He said I'm your lover, I'm your friend, my purity(?) hit me again
With a bullet, number one, kill the family, save the son,
Himself, himself
[He] found pieces of Jennifer's body
[He] found pieces of Jennifer's body
[He] found pieces of Jennifer's body
Just relax, just relax, just go to sleep
Just relax, just relax, just go to sleep, now, ???, ???
