Key: A major and transitions to C major
Please Comment and Rate so I can improve or make corrections to my tabs. Thank You!
**Note** This is not the original version, rather it is the edited version
recorded for Disney Cartoon, "Hercules;" however, I added the original bridge in
addition to the movie verson. Aother tabs and lyric sites have the original
verses and choruses that you can add if need be (just use the same chord
progressions for verse/chorus).
(The bridge is not in the movie).
**edit: Fixed chords placement above words; Edited some chords I noticed were
wrong; added notes to make this more Theater oriented for Music Majors/Musical
Theater Majors like myself**
Verse:
D E A D E A
I have often dreamed, of a far off place
D C# F#m D E
Where a Great warm welcome will be waiting for me.
D E A D E A
Where the crowds will cheer, when they see my face
D C# F#m D E
And a voice keeps saying this is where Im meant to be;
First Chorus:
A E F#m E
I will find my way, I can go the distance
A E F#m E
I'll be there someday, if I can be strong

I know evry mile, will be worth my while
D E A A/G# Dmaj7 E A
I would go most anywhere to feel like I belong
**See Monologue Note 1**
2nd Chorus:
A E F#m E
I am on my way, I will go the distance
A E F#m E
I don't care how far, somehow I'll be strong
A Bm F#m Bm7
And a thousand years, would be worth the wait
D E A A/G# Dmaj7 E A
It might take a lifetime, but somehow Ill see it through.

dramatic ending):

I will search the world, I will face its harms

Helpful Musical Theater Notes:
Monologue Note 1:
At this point, you may repeatedly play the Chord Progression used in the Verse
(repeating as many times as needed, but quietly so that whoever is speaking isn't
overpowered by the music) In which one may say a monologue during this time, for
those who may be musical theater majors/oriented like myself. When you are ready
to move on to the next chorus, you can play the last progression ( D - C# - F# - D
- E ) with more emphasis to signify moving on and for a more dramatic effect...
and then move directly into the next chorus)
Monologue Note 2:
As stated in the 1st monologe note, you can repeat the chord pression as needed,
however, when moving onto the last chorus, it will be different because of a key
change. If you are not going to say a monolgue here, it is best to go straight
into the chorus (which consists of the Key Change) and then straight into the Last
Chorus. If you intend to say a monologe here, it is probably best to leave out the
Bridge and go straight into the Last Chorus, which will consists of a Key Change
from A Major up to C Major. When you are ALMOST done speaking and are ready to
move onto the Last Chorus, use this progression to modulate to the Last Chorus:
D - C# - F# - A - Esus - E (strumming the 2nd E with a little more intensity to
signify the upcoming Key Change) and then follow with:
F - G - C (x2)
F - E - Am
Fmaj7 - Gsus - G
F/A - G/B - C/F -G7)
