Dinosaur Jr. - Little Fury Things
From the album 'You're Living All Over Me' (1987)
Standard tuning, capo on 2nd fret
---
A lot of Dino's earlier songs have wierd song structures and don't follow the usual
kind of deal, so
I might've technically labeled a verse as a chorus or vice versa, but you should have an
of which bit is which.
To get the harsh wah sound in the intro, it helps to put your fuzz (or other distortion)
front of the wah in the
signal chain, so it goes guitar>fuzz>wah. that way, you're distorting the signal the wah
and you get this
really nasty harsh wah sound of awesomeness. this gets used on songs like Kracked,
and Drawerings to name a few.
Like I say, I can get a quite close tone to this song by using a Jazzmaster with both
selected, some mild overdrive
for the rhythm/'clean' parts, and heavy fuzz for the distorted parts. Then maybe toy
your amp EQ and you can pretty much
nail the 80s Dinosaur tone.

Then repeat the chorus for the rest of the song, and you're done :] get back on the wah
the
second half of the outro, slowly move it back and forth flanger style. in the recording it's
just left in one position for pure noise value, but when played live the wah's usually got
some movement in there.
