Ants Marching (live/acoustic)
Dave Matthews w/Tim Reynolds

This is main riff, a D-G thing that replaces violin and sax from the
original. It's played rather fast, but once you get the hang of it,
it sounds great. He has Tim Reynolds playing lead on this, and well,
we won't worry about what he's doing. All I can say is the guy makes
Dave look like an amateur...and that's saying alot!! Download this
live version to get the feel and to hear the awesome slide work!!

(Play this riff throughout the verses, and anywhere else not otherwise noted)
He wakes up in the morning
Does his teeth, bite to eat and he's rolling.
He never changes a thing
The week ends, the week begins.
She thinks,
We look at each other
Wondering what the other is thinking
But we never say a thing
And these crimes between us grow deeper.
[chorus]
(Main riff here)
Take these chances
Place them in a box until a

quieter time
G Bm Asus
Lights down you up and die
(Main riff)
Goes to visit his mommy
She feeds him well, has concerns he forgets them
And remembers being small
Playing under the table and dreaming
[chorus]

Lights down you up and die
(Main riff)
Driving in on this highway
All these cars end up on the sidewalk
People in every direction
No words exchanged, no time to exchange them
G Gsus Em
When all the little ants are marching
G Gsus Em
Red and black antennas waving
G Gsus Em
They all do it the same
G Gsus Em (Main Riff)
They all do it the same way
Candyman tempting the thoughts of a
Sweet tooth, torturing the weight loss
Program cutting the corners of a loose end, loose end, cut cut
On the fence, not to offend cut cut, cut cut
[chorus]
Bm D G Bm Asus
Take these chances

Place them in a box until a

Lights down you up and die
(Main Riff)
Tim Reynolds totally goes off here...amazing guitarist!
Look for the G-Gsus-Em bit, followed by the chorus chords, and then
finish with a couple of bars of the main riff and a big finish!!
Lights down you up and die
