Im convinced of this for two reasons; at the end of the tune when they're the shots the guitar keeps playing the Eb root even when it hits the B power chord, isn't natural feeling in drop D. Second clue is during the verses you can occasionally hear guitar throw out a low Eb even though the chords have them up around 5th position. than that there's no reason not to play in drop D.
