Sleep The Clock Around

Belle And Sebastian

Text File

This is probably my favourite soung of the album, it's just so sad but uplifting at the same time. Intro E B C#m A E And the moment will come when composure returns B Put a face on the world, turn your back to the wall C#m And you walk twenty yards with your head in the air A Down the Liberty Hill, where the fashion brigade E Look with curious eyes on your raggedy way B And for once in your life you've got nothing to say C#m And could this be the time when somebody will come A To say, "Look at yourself, you're not much use to anyone" E B C#m A E Take a walk in the park, take a valium pill B Read the letter you got from the memory girl C#m But it takes more than this to make sense of the day A Yeah, it takes more than milk to get rid of the taste E And you trusted to this, and you trusted to that B And when you saw it all come, it was waving the flag C#m Of the United States of Calamity, hey! A After all that you've done, boy, I know you're going to pay E B C#m Ax2 E In the morning you come to the ladies salon B To get all fitted out for The Paperback Throne C#m But the people are living far away from the place A Where you wanted to help, it's a bit of a waste E And the puzzle will last until somebody will say B "There's a lot to be done while your head is still young" C#m If you put down your pen, leave your worries behind A Then the moment will come, and the memory will shine Intrumental E B C#m A E Now the trouble is over, everybody got paid B Everybody is happy, they are glad that they came C#m Then you go to the place where you've finally found A You can look at yourself, sleep the clock around Outro E B C#m A That's it.
